One comment by a 20-year-old member on a webpage that really struck me was that he had started watching porn at 12 and got his first intimate experience when he was 14. His parents have brought up his sister and himself pretty well. So what I understand out of it is that as per the guy who is in his twenties, watching porn is normal, obvious, and acceptable. But what about his intimate act at an early age of 14? Was that acceptable?

It might be for him but it surely is not for most people. It would have been perfectly okay at least when he had after becoming an adult and when he knew what it really meant. I am sure he never revealed it to his parents then and wouldn’t have done so even now. It is a lot easier to accept wrong doings on the internet than in person. Parents have to understand that kids who are just 8 years of age are being exposed to inappropriate content today. Most of them hide, lie and don’t share this or show any signs that they could be addicted to it. Such kids spend a lot of time on their smartphones 24/7 with unfettered access. We need to at least let them grow into healthy and tolerant adults to make better and safer choices for themselves in the future. Until then we have to monitor their mobile internet access with a child safe mobile browser like SmyleSafe that restricts the bad and scrubs it from affecting into their dopamine levels.

There are kids who have described their porn addiction as, “I became almost numb to it or I hated I couldn’t stop”. For adults and other people, it becomes a total brain disease turning them into online sexual predators and child molesters. All parents should know that predators view online content extensively and they are always looking for young teens and tweens to prey on.

Recently, a college professor was found to have viewed inappropriate content and was not accused to be guilty by a New York Court. It brings us to the point that even laws can’t protect us always. The professor stated that he had viewed those child photos as he was doing research and stored them but they were in the computer’s cache. It made a point to the judges that he couldn’t be punished. And then state and the federal laws are different on viewing and storing child pornography as well where the federal law terms it punishable.

Undoubtedly, the present laws will remain and may take a lot of time to be amended. Therefore, we cannot completely depend on the government to protect our kids when they are our responsibility. With a child safe browser installed on the smartphone like SmyleSafe, we can prohibit negative content and other apps that promote sexting in kids through mobile phone. As someone correctly said that an addiction isn’t something to overcome in isolation, we have to help our tweens and teens from developing such bad habits. With the safe internet browser, parents can block or allow websites as per age category of the child selected into it. Customize blacklists for bad websites to be blocked and whitelist for good websites to be accessible by the child on the phone.

SmyleSafe Browser also provides full GPS location tracking of smartphones like Android, BlackBerry, and iPhone and comes with geo-fencing as well. Geo-fencing alerts will be texted to the parents mobile phone if the child goes across a pre-determined virtual fence. The software also has an anti-theft feature that allows parents to send an SMS text to remotely lock or unlock the phone. One can even wipe the confidential data from the phone and start a siren to startle the thief remotely. All this and much more bundled in one mobile browser like SmyleSafe make it a perfect safe match for a child smartphone today.
